Take a Screenshot and Edit Them in Ubuntu Desktop with Hotshots

Hotshots is an alternative to screenshot applications like Shutter, is lighter and brings such attractive features can capture specific windows or only capture a specific area included a tool to easily edit the captured images.  Written in Qt, the project was born in the HotShots desire to create a complete free multi-platform software that facilitates the user to create screen ready to be posted in blogs, social networks,forums,  etc.

With Hotshots would save a few steps. This tool for taking screenshots serves to take screenshots of the entire screen, a specific window or a specific area. After taking the screenshot you can just save it in one of the many formats that allow the application (png, bmp, gif, jpg, tiff, ico, and many more) or edit the image.

This edition is prepared to tutorials or documentation . Add things like arrows, numbering, marking of areas, and so on.

Other interesting things that capture and editing tool is that you can set it to automatically add any effect or make a redirect. And as if that were not enough, it has two features that you might finish convincing: it remains in the tray to have it at hand and you can use it very easily with keyboard shortcuts.


How To Install
Hotshots not yet available on Ubuntu Software Repository, to installing Hotspots screenshot tool in Ubuntu based distro you can add the following PPA via terminal then install it.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:dhor/myway
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install hotshots
